Since 2016, Illusion Bartender Academy has trained bartenders the way the industry actually works — on real bars, under real pressure, with real feedback.
The Academy
From One Bar to a Growing Academy
Illusion started in 2016 as a single training bar in Thamel, founded by working bartenders frustrated with theory-heavy courses that left graduates unprepared for real service. The idea was simple: teach the craft the way it's actually practiced — hands-on, from day one.
A decade on, we've trained more than 500 graduates, placed students in hotels and cocktail bars across the region, and built a curriculum that's constantly updated by instructors still working behind the bar.

2016
Illusion Founded in Thamel
Opened our first training bar with a single Professional Bartending course and three founding instructors.
2018
Mixology & Flair Program Launches
Added an advanced track for graduates wanting to specialise in modern techniques and competition flair.
2020
100th Graduate Placed
Reached our first major placement milestone despite a challenging year for hospitality worldwide.
2021
Campus Renovation & Expansion
Rebuilt our Thamel training bar with additional stations and a dedicated flair practice area.
2023
Bar Management Diploma Introduced
Launched a leadership-focused course for graduates ready to run their own bar programs.
2026
